            Venha participar da oficina Desafios Climáticos e Soluções, com o Professor Garba Diallo. Garba é africano da Mauritânia, viveu no Oriente Médio(Qatar) e Escandinávia, onde atua desde os anos 1990 (Noruega e Dinamarca). É diretor do projeto Crossing Borders (Cruzando Fronteiras) veja em www.crossingborders.dk. baseado na escola superior popular Krogerup (Dinamarca). O principal objetivo da Crossing Borders é proporcionar espaço de diálogo e formação de competências para a capacitação de jovens, educadores e pessoal da mídia, de modo que eles possam se tornar ativos participantes nos processos de desenvolvimento presente e futuro das suas sociedades.

Workshop Climate Challenges and Solutions

The outline and formate is based on introduction of Garba Diallo, Crossing Borders project and the climate challenges as opportunities for solving many of the current global issues of concerns. The workshop went as follows:

1. Garba Diallo's 35 years global journey which has taken him from Mauritania in West Africa, through the Middle East and Scandinavia. What challenges faced and lessons learnt in the search for sustainable living (ca.10 minutes).

2. Crossing Borders development out of the Danish Folk school movement. I touch a bit on the folk school as a space for social, cultural and personal development and a meeting place across cultures, ideas and generations. This will be followed by a presentation of CB goals, missions, target group and activities. (ca. 15 minutes)

3. Presentation of Crossing Youth Climate Ambassador programmes as an example of CB contribution to current global challenges. Here, I will share ideas on the background of the programme from COP 15, 2009, its development and why see we the environmental/climate challenges as solutions to most of the current global problems such as global warming, nuclear threats, conflicts, unemployment etc (ca. minutes)

4. 25 minutes break - coffe, tea and cakes

5. group work on how do the participants could imagine climate as a solution and why

6. will display CB materials and info on possibilities to study in Denmark.
7. the workshop included group dynamics, work and outputs
